Terms of Service

Basho Travel is in active beta. The service may change, break, experience downtime, or lose data during normal development. Don’t use it as the only copy of anything irreplaceable.

You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Let us know at hello@basho.travel if you suspect unauthorized access.

You keep ownership of the trips, plans, photos, notes, and anything else you put into Basho Travel (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and back up Your Content for the sole purpose of operating the service for you. When you share a trip with collaborators or via a public share link, you’re granting the viewers access on the same terms.

Don’t use Basho Travel to store or share anything illegal, harassing, defamatory, or infringing. Don’t try to compromise the service, reverse-engineer our systems, scrape other users’ content, or abuse rate limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Basho Travel is built on top of third parties including Supabase (hosting, auth, storage), Resend (email), OpenAI (parsing forwarded emails), Google Maps (geocoding), and Unsplash (stock photography). Your use of the service is also subject to their terms. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data flows where.

If you forward emails to your Basho Travel inbox alias, you authorize us to process the contents (including with OpenAI) to extract plan details on your behalf.

You can delete your account any time by emailing hello@basho.travel. We’ll remove your account and associated content within 30 days. We may also suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

Basho Travel is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Curt Middleton Design, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Basho Travel. Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed US $50.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we’ll notify you by email before they take effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
